Verge- Edge-Margin Notes for 27 August 2010.
- Thoughts on notes, note taking and writing in the margins (our little Verges).
- A note book is a container in which to put our sacred thoughts.
- A book is many things: entertainment, escape, an awakening, a FAQ, a biography, an instructive.
- The iPod. is shaped like an note book in which you store your sacred songs.
- The church is a temple in which the sacred was shaped by The Council of Nicea about 350 AD - many ideas taken from ancient pagan practices and astrology! Did you ever notice: the door of the church are like opening the pages of a book? Religion contains people based on hope and fear.
- Speech was the first evolution, the first turning, the wheel. Then came agriculture and people living in community; the printing press; the industrial revolution; The information age - just because you can find it on the net doesn’t mean it’s true. Whose information is it anyway?
But how do we filter what is truth? Whose reflection are we seeking? In the end it all comes back to the Self. Be your own author. Write your own book.
I believe the journaling is an impulse to make sense of an insane world, as well as a way to get the voices out of our head. It is an act of desperation and creation to be able to express the inner world to the outer.
